The composite safety toe version features a cap that provides the same protection as steel, but is non-metallic, corrosion resistant, transmit less cold, and weigh less. In addition, this version is also considered Electric Hazard Resistant Footwear. These shoes have been constructed/manufactured with electric shock-resisting soles and heels. Tested for and meets CAN/CSA-Z195 ELECTRIC SHOCK RESISTANCE.
 
The ASR outsole itself features a specially formulated dual-density rubber sole compound. The combination of advanced design, the newest materials, technology, and quality manufacturing define the ASR collection. Don't waste your money!!

I received the pair of shoes but one shoe appears to have been made of different material. It almost appears to be imitation leather. The material wrinkles and and has a different shine than the other shoe. Only had them for two months. They are in the garbage and have been replaced by a pair of Red Wing shoes. I will never but this brand of shoes again.

Just that, they seem to fit a bit too small. I'm a 10.5M. For my next pair I'll get an even 11.M.

Great idea, but falls short of expectations.

I purchased this shoe about 4 months ago, the internal liner came apart at the heal from taking the shoe on and off. The shoe does not breathe very well, going back to my Merrell which was much more comfortable.

"As a female volunteer firefighter/emt, I am interested in this shoe for the upcoming warmer weather. My question is, how best should I size this shoe if I am purchasing it for a female foot? I am typically a 9.5/10 shoe."

Thorogood boots seem to run true to size, you say you wear a 9.5 or 10 is that a women's size or is that a mans size? The sizing listed are men's size's. According to my Thorogood book a women's size 9.5 = a mans 7.5 and a women's size 10 = a mans size 8 Hope this helps if not e mail us back and we'll see what we can come up with.
